I'm ok with the album coming next year, just as long as she doesn't decide to do The Voice along with it. She can perform her single there, but she'd better not sign up as a coach. It's time to put her music career first again.
Once she's producing that new show, I guess she's done with The Noise by now.
I just want a GOOD album. I don't care if she's on The Noise, I don't care if she gets a hit, I don't care if she puts on weight, none of that. I just want a masterpiece. Not an album that I have to make excuses for or force it to grow on me or delete half of it after a week, like Lotus. She completely ruled my life in 2006 and 2010 and I want that again. It's been a long time!
Oddly enough, I think her complete silence post-SS (2014 - 2016) has been more damaging for her career than Bionic gate, Superbowl gate, Lotus gate or Party City wigs on The Banjo gate. But not even that matters, as long as she delivers!
Lotus is a cute pop album, imo. I like it better than Bionic, but I agree this time around she has to deliver another Christina freaking Aguilera kind of album!
Telepathy really got me excited for what's coming next. I would love some Nile Rodgers on X6.
I agree, I need the new album to be as brilliant and most of all as consistent as Back To Basics and Stripped. I need that Christina back. I do love Bionic, the highs are really high but the lows are quite low.
And as much as I can enjoy "Change" and "Telepathy", I don't feel like they are album-material. "Change" feels uninspired musically (and lyrically), and "Telepathy" sounds a little sloppy vocally.
I just saw the pics of her daughters party, she looks great! Keep it! The red hair works for her.
Now I'm going to need her to release an album with simple, gorgeous ballads and smooth mid tempos that have easy melodies...just keep the vocals crisp and clear, no unnecessary OTT runs. Use that gorgeous head voice more and more, it's so underrated, those background vocals in "You Lost Me" still haunt me to this day. I'm mad she focuses more on her "growling" and "belting".... her head voice is just perfection.
