Gaga and Ronson both hyped Perfect Illusion after the news of UMG prohibiting exclusive deals were released. She'll be fine. She announced the single one month before so now she's able to tweak things up. She should go for the Apple exclusive release if she signed it before this new rule came up and if she can't go on with it, a normal radio release with the song playing every hour for the first day in KIIS and Z100 (she already has a contract with iHeartRadio about the single) and an iTunes/Spotify/Apple Music release will be nice. That, plus AHS buzz and a couple Ellen performances will do, trust me

Don't know how to feel about the exclusive. Even though I'm an AM subscriber, I'm not sure I would've been massively excited about an exclusive. Only cause I feel like it would alienate a lot of her fans/potential listeners and would force them to listen in other ways (like illegal downloads)...

However lots of people have a point regarding her using Apple as one of her key promo opportunities this era... I really liked the idea of her debuting alongside the new iPhone launch and performing at the keynote presentation thing.

If that was all going to happen won't it all be cancelled now? So she'll be promo-less Like others have said, if this is the case and she purposefully missed loads of promo spots (vma's/AM festival etc) all cause of this... well welp. I am a little worried.

Also part of me worries could cause her to push the single back, but then I feel that would send out a terrible message seeing as her instagram/website is full of 'SEPTEMBER' so it would really be awkward.

Oh well, gotta have faith in Bobby.

Gaga not performing at Apple Music makes me think the deal was never officially signed. I think Gaga and Interscope were probably choosing between options and Apple Music was the most pausible one. Now it isn't, but that doesn't mean she is left alone and naked. According to reports and common sense, Gaga's signed a contract with iHeartRadio + has recorded a couple interviews / promos with KIIS FM. AHs is on the way and it'lll give Gaga name a lot of buzz. She will be fine.

I agree with all of this. And come on, I'm sure Bobby has a plan B, C, and D because deals fall through all the time. If Gaga inked this huge lucrative, deal with Apple, it wouldn't be taken away that easily. Some changes to the deal, yes but just terminating the whole thing because of some UMG executive getting upset seems a bit.. unrealistic.

I for once am kind of glad the music won't be exclusive to one platform at first, it'll just drive potential sales away, and would've been a messy way to start off the era, I wouldn't have complained just waited until it's available all over to purchase, but now it seems that is not the deal anymore, or at least that's what they are reporting, let's wait and see, sooner or later we'll get legit confirmation from reliable sources that are not just speaking out of their ass and speculating, until then calm your **** guys
