It's not about validation, it's about fairness in coverage.
This situation underscores the need for the black LGBT flag and for black LGBT media outlets. The majority wants to blast us for "segregating ourselves" when we're only separating OUT to bring attention TO. That concept continues to be lost on people who never have to worry about finding faces to indentify with because there's always an abundance of people like them in media, commercials, music, etc.
