So did Ryeowook and Yesung, even Luna sold numbers that would be considered decent for many girl groups

The point is that from a purely financial standpoint, when you have such an unmatched roster of groups, investing in projects that don't given them anywhere near the return is pretty questionable. However the solos likely did far less damage than SM Station you have a point.

Depends on whether you judge them by SM standards or by regular standards. Exo also took some time to catch on but they were doing better with Mama by this point. I suspect that NCT will still end up being big but they definitely could be doing a lot better.
