Nobody else thinks it's bizarre that she would release it in SEPTEMBER when AUGUST makes much better sense in terms of promo? Like why the **** is she missing the VMAS?
She had a falling out with the VMAs three years ago when they denied her the original performance for Applause and even rejected the second proposal, because they wanted it to be Miley's VMAs.

Mess.
How real is this? Who's the source? Are we sure it's not fan-fiction?
Was this account exposed as fake or not? https://twitter.com/remark060/with_replies
because they keep swearing she's performing at the VMAs and the single is coming this month.

every single insider was fake. They all just came out of no where when that radio host said her label contacted him. That was the only credible source of info.

No, we've had sketches/pics/detailed description of the original performance for years, MTV cancelled it last minute, she had to come up with a new concept within a couple of days
@iHeartTheaterNY can you name one Gaga song that it would be on the same level as/remind you of?! ILL TAKE ANY DETAILS UGH

@joeymonda I don't think there's a comparison that would make sense. It's in its own lane, but still feels right at home.

@iHeartTheaterNY is it your favorite Gaga lead single? Out of just dance, bad romance, born this way and applause

@tattooedreams We only got to hear it once, but it was really. really. good. Prob new fave lead single, but we still love all of those too.
She probably didn't want a secondary slot at the VMA's. If you're going to debut new music and hype up your comeback you preferably want top billing. Otherwise there's a high chance of being lost in the crowd.
It's pretty clear the VMA's wanted this year to be all about Britney and they probably booked it first.
Plus I think she wants to try and not recreate the Applause-ARTPOP release.
I don't see it as a problem though, once the VMA fuss dies down, which shouldn't take long, she can step up and she won't have to compete with all those other artists on the same night - she can have the spotlight alone.
If the song is good enough it will take off well without the promo spot.

Hopefully it is just an attention ***** and nothing else. I don't want her to perform there.

Oh, okay. I was just wondering because I read somewhere that this account exclusively revealed something about Britney's single (or album? or video?)

Exactly.
Ever since they announced Rih was getting the Vanguard award and performing, I've been hoping she skips it. And that's not even factoring in Beyonce. & Britney.
