True, serving a great lead is more important than a hit. Quality will cultivate and please the core fan base, a hit is fleeting!
I agree 100%. A good example of this is Carly, who had little to no true fans after Call Me Maybe, but won over an adoring throng of both critics and pop fans with Emotion.
Exactly. Britney and her team seemed to have grasped this concept in contrast to Pretty Girls. Gaga did too seeing the pool of producers.
Yes, Make Me (AHH my ****ing fave) is a masterpiece! Pretty Girls could of smashed and it would never have sold one album or concert ticket (see: Iggy's post-Fancy re-release and the Great Escape Tour cancellation, she was literally better off before it happened)
