From what I remember, wasn't Derrick lowkey when he played? He was never front and center in his alliances and he was nice to everyone. Paulie was the complete opposite of that, and thus the expose when it became blatantly obvious he was playing his game via Derrick's game.
Paulie really thought he was Derrick reincarnated but he's actually played a lot like Amanda. Calling all the shots all season by bullying people into doing what they say and then when someone finally has the balls to put them up, whining like a little brat as if them being put up is some national tragedy and mourning the fact that they no longer control the game. The way he treats Natalie is a lot like how she treated Elissa but at least the latter were both women and were able to make up. He's just a vile, washed-up loser that's nowhere in life and despises women passionately.
