Aly, Simone and Aliya were all strong on vault, but then the next rotation was UB and thats Aliyas strongest apparatus, while its Simones and Alys weakest, their routines were less difficult than Aliyas and thats why she was leading after the second rotation, but then both Americans delivered their more difficult beam and floor routines. The scores were fair and all of them deserve their medals.
Aliya came back from retirement after injury, surgery and long rehabilitation when she had only few months to gain muscles and prepare herself for Olympics. She even spoke in interview about how she is uncertain if she will manage to come back to form and participate. She also spoke with great respect about American team, called them unbeatable, but hoped that she will be able to do her best. And she managed to win her 6th Olympic medal. Yeah, poor dat, right, because sitting behind computer and bitching is such an achievement.
