It's only because the people giving such reactions are the gays on twitter and forums. They are the most vocal part of the base and public. Also, Gwen had a set of particular expectations and so does Britney. I think what's throwing a lot of people off is that Glory isn't going to be a cohesive electropop paradise like FF (and that other album) and not in the vein of Blackout. It sounds... diverse.

I like Clumsy and Private Show but I don't love them. I love Make Me and JLM sounds like it'll be amazing as well.

I still think Make Me could've been a big hit. I was at a house party two weekends ago and one of the straight-est guys I know said he liked the song The only problem is that no one knows the song exists

When TIWTFL was released I was hoping for Glory to sound and perform like it and here we are except it most likely won't hit #1.
