It is important to note that she doesn't play a white girl in these films. The characters she's played are Indian . She is probably one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood at the moment(from the crop of new girls).

She hasn't complained. A lot of the SJWs on Tumblr and Twitter constantly attack the girl. Whilst I think this is wrong and Indian actresses should be playing Indian roles, I don't think she's to blame. Bollywood are always whitewashing Indian girls. The producers seem to allude that lighter skinnned girls = more beautiful.

Some people move across races as others move across genders, sexualities, and dis/abilities. In a world where a lot of people are coming out as moving across and/or beyond categories, many people are beginning to realise that bodies and people are fluid and not static. I think we are constantly in flux, so I don't think she's "wrong" for playing or performing a different colour. I think play is superb, although it can upset and/or offend some people. For me: I'm not bothered by Amy Jackson's situation.Of course, I say this with my privileges and marginalisations in mind. Right now what bothers me is stuff about my anxiety, but I suppose I am dealing with this.

Apparently not. Maybe it's just the SJWs. I've recently watched a film starring Amy and all my straight friend could talk about was how hot she was and how he wants to sleep with her. So I guess it can't be that much of an issue

I hate her ... or more like I hate the indian industry for this.

She's indeed a stunning woman and she does look half-indian but I just can't watch a movie with her in it.
She embodies what every indian woman aspires to look like: a white woman.

Not on her part. It is a bit unfortunate that a society that already has problems with colorism would allow this (not only are their girls trying to emulate light skinned and mixed Indians, they'll also want to look like full on white people in "Indianface").

But yeah, I'd classify this under "unfortunate", rather than personally attacking the actress on twitter as I'm sure many are doing.

To be fair the girl does seem very genuine. She has taken the time to learn at least some of the language, she seems to get along very well with her Indian cast members and there isn't a single ounce of prejudice about her. I don't think the hate she gets is warranted.

She's filming Quantico right now. I don't think she'd have an issue with it personally or Amy in general. She does have an issue with Deepika
