I don't think I've ever been homophobic. Up until I was 13 I thought the gays were some kind of movie fiction, as the subject was never brought up in Italy in general. Then a couple of years later I realized my sexuality but I accepted it right away, also knowing my parents are pro-LGBT
Yes. Grew up in a religious conseerative asshoke and was brandwashed into being homophobic and thought being gay was the worst thing on earth. Boy, how things changed
Literally everyone used to call each other gay all the time when I was younger.
Right. I remember when something unfortunate happened people would be like " that's so gay" or if somebody accused you of being gay it was seen as a insult.
Yeah, I've said a lot of (BLATANTLY) ignorant stuff when it comes to most social issues, probably even on this site but I'm glad that I immersed myself in people who educated me on my stance and now a lot of the things I would've said 2/3 years/months/days/hours ago, I know are wrong
Kind of. My father was a little homophobic when I was growing up so that rubbed off on me before I realized I was gay myself. Luckily things have changed a lot.
Nope, I always kinda knew that was gay but I never tried to repress it. I just struggled to understand and make my peace with it, but during that process, I never behaved like a homophobe.
