No he has a point. I mean, you can't deny that Taylor treated her singles properly up until Wildest Dreams. The thing is, Beyonce NEVER needs to publicly perform as a promotional measure. All she would need to do is service radio. That's the most powerful promotional platform. But she doesn't, cause there's so much that goes into it. And she'd rather think up another visual album concept than juggle with that bureaucracy.
This is why I'll never understand the "DC doesn't count" crowd. When it completely affected the trajectory of her career. Those extra 5 albums playing the media, radio payola game wore on her tenacity for seeking out "hits".
Crazy In Love was a risk. This is why her labels told her she had no hits. And so was Deja Vu. This is why she had to record the album behind Mathew's back. Because she was over the easy RnB in-trend sounds of DC by the time she went solo.
