My older brother asked me why doesn't Rih release another/something like Rated R. I told him that the album was too personal (that she co-wrote most of it) about her first love and how he destroyed (back then) her life. We'll never get another Rated R, IMO. But instead we got ANTI, so I'm fine.

ANTI and Unapologetic are a bit similar to RR in terms of being largely downtempo and moody. As far as the specific tone of Rated R though? I don't see it happening. Also don't think she needs to try to replicate it.

I do wish she'd go back to giving us Rated R levels of slay with her videos, though. I mean even the "buzz video" Wait Your Turn was fantastic.

I'm gonna agree with you and TheFireLexus. The only answer would be imagery/videos and maybe single choice. I guess you don't know the extent of Rih's genre crossing/mixing if you just hear her popular songs. However, of the RR singles that actually had traction on the charts, only one (Russian Roulette) was a big change for her. So again, I'm going to assume he misses the imagery more than anything else. OR that's the only Rih album he gave a chance too, so he just assumes she hasn't reached that level of quality again.
