"Alejandro ended Gaga"

"Born this Way ended Gaga"

"Judas ended Gaga"

"Marry the Night ended Gaga"
Gaga was always a controversial act, none of this hurt her. Alejandro was still a massive hit and was probably amplified due to the controversy, BTW was also massive and also amplified due to the Madonna controversy, Judas was also big in a lot of European counties and was helped by the controversy. MTN only flopped because Gaga was overexposed.
Gaga flopped because after a nearly year and a half hiatus, the first thing we see of Gaga is her butt arsed naked in the woods, being desperate and overdramatic on Twitter when Applesauce leaked, fighting Perez Hilton on Twitter and her trying to do this weird try hard "Lady Gaga is over" campaign.
It was a shite idea, and it backfired. Plus, the ARTPOP era had **** organisation. It had no theme, it had no cohesion, it was just a cluster**** of ideas; none of which were executed properly. It also didn't help that she gave up on the era by November.
