ALSO, I feel like I should trust my instincts more in this game tbh. Like I loved the "I know how many steps it takes to reach your bed from the bedroom door" line from a few weeks back but I thought, "Watch some judge critique the way 'bed' appears twice

Then this round I thought the caffeine line was clever since caffeine keeps you awake and the song is all about wanting to be asleep as much as possible. (Plus I like how the verb "giving up" applies to an intangible concept [this dream] and a physical thing [caffeine].) But I still thought a judge might not like the register of the diction, and then Clarkson didn't.
When I think a judge won't like a line in the future (if I make it), I better just leave it out
