Why pretentious tho? Don't get me wrong, I stand the Lord, and Carly Slay Jepsen, but I can also recognize and appreciate music that is not necessarily curated to please the crowd. And Madonna has been on both ends of the spectrum. She just happened to be more artistically successful when she went for that personal, statement-based record

Any criticism, legitimate or otherwise, of that album on here is always met with clapbacks that the album is "high art, which you wouldn't understand since you're a dumb twink" etc.

I think it's a mess of an album because of the trite lyrics in too many of the songs (a given for Madonna but especially on here), the almost forced meshing of the electro and the folk elements in most of the songs, and the absolute corniness in some of it. And I really don't mind corny songs that much (I'm not conatus) but people will not admit that a good third of it is pure cheese and instead it's played off like some avant-garde masterpiece that is too much for our mere twink brains to handle.

I like Intervention, X-Static Process and Easy Ride. I can even use the title track and even Nothing Fails if I let the cheesiness go, I'll pass on the rest.
