Not really.. The main reason there is so many Billboard charts is because songs of a specific genre/category have no hope of topping The Hot 100. My issue is people saying that GaGa has 6 number 1 singles when that is not the case, its a collusion of the truth.

In the US a number 1 single = Number 1 on The Hot 100.

Ummm thats a lie because a single that tops the pop chart does not always top The Hot 100 which is the most important Billboard chart.

Should we refer to a Pop #1 as a #2 because it wasn't on the Hot 100?

No I refer to them as Pop #1 singles..... or #1 single on the Pop Chart....

But when you say "oh this will be her 6th consecutive #1 single in America" her fans that dont study charting like we all do will assume she has surpassed Beyonce and Rihanna with #1 singles..... I in no way am hating because this song benefits my fav as well as yours.... Im just saying its more than a little misleading...

I mean I dont go around saying Single Ladies spent 12 weeks at No.1...... you would think I was crazy or something.... But it did spend 12 weeks at No.1 on the R&B Chart....

I think you understand what they are trying to say. Of course it's a #1, but it's on a specific chart. It's very misleading, almost a lie to say "6th #1 single", when it is in fact "6th #1 single on pop radio". The idea of saying it's misleading, but not a lie is the purposeful act that you are working your way around the truth. And as someone said before, you will say "LoveGame" & "Paparazzi" went #1 on pop radio, so why not any other time? That basically proves the point most are saying about this. No one goes around saying Beyonce has 6 number ones, Madonna has 52, Britney has 8, etc.

Anyways, question! "Telephone" is a single from The Fame Monster, so how will it count for GaGa having consecutive top tens from one album? It's technically a 2nd album with a special edition combining the two.

i am a HUGE fan of gaga, im not putting her down, she is amazing!

she has had 5/6 number 1's in the US on the POP chart. only 2 on the HOT 100. They do count as number 1's but your making a big deal out of it when Duca is actually right. Just think about it. And just cos you admit that doesnt mean that your no longer a stan or anthing, god.
