Honestly the best way to discover Kpop is literally just go to Youtube, click on the videos that seem interesting to you and let them sink in. If it doesn't work, move on to something else, if you do like it, check out more of their material/their albums.

before I go to bed I'll briefly state how it's interesting how eastern pop songs are capable of much more thoughtful lyricism because of the structures of their languages and their ability to rhyme without restricting meaning

you wouldnt BELIEVE how shook i got when i was looking up the lyrics to one song and it was about how they were battling depression, suicide, and heartbreak and i wanted to cry but the beat was so hot i wanted to throw my ass at the same time
like, (again, i dont care about lyrics mostly tbh) but its honestly like reading poetry. everything is so beautifully descriptive and even if tis a mindless bop, the lyrics always stick with you after looking them up. its kinda mind-blowing

Okay, actually, most annoying is def April. I never liked Lexie (hihihii) and then some of the randoms that come and leave after one season are never the tea either.

i think its because most of the training/companies look for groups because their more profitable. more members basically = more money they can potentially bring in.
but dont get it confused tho, there's A L O T of solo kpop artists out there that were never in groups (like DEAN, Ailee (maybe), and one of ym newest faves, Eric Nam)

& there's always artists that FINALLY get solos after being in a group long enough. but there's alot of solo artists, you just have to dig a bit and you'll find some lol. check out this girl too, i think you'll be into it as well. its very lowkey thotty and chill lol
