Taylor
has worked with Luke (however briefly), but even if she hadn't I don't see any reason why it would matter. Ultimately what we have is two pop stars, one who's been trying to brand herself as her generation's premier feminist icon ever since Beyoncé made feminism cool, staying mum on an incredibly gross miscarriage of justice and a prime example of how the industry is stacked against women--one is merely gross, the other's a self-serving hypocrite. Taylor didn't want to rock the boat by speaking out against Luke and tried to skirt the backlash by throwing money at the problem "privately."
In fact, considering Katy's known Luke as long as she's known Kesha and seems to have had more of a working relationship with the former, I can understand why she might side with him, even if I don't condone it. It's probably easier for her to deny that her friend might be a rapist than it is to face the truth.

And I don't think that check was "patronizing" when Kesha in fact accepted it + had to sell her house because she was indeed short of money.
At least she isn't working with Dr. Rape anymore, even though she obviously didn't do it for Kesha, she's doing the right thing even if it's not because of the right intentions.

Wasn't the story that Kesha was broke proven fake? In any case, she threw money at Kesha as though she was a charity case, knowing fully well that that story would get out some way or another, while still not having to take an official stance.
You guys act like giving Kesha money and tweeting about Kesha was an either/or type situation. She could've done both but chose the one that would elicit the least backlash out of sheer cowardice.
