I don't consider that the same thing exactly; it's a planned part of every show. I was talking the special stories/comments that make every show unique, which were what was lacking last night, she still did the selfie. Tbh I think she's the only uber-major artist that does that kind of banter so well, it stands out and maintains the human part of her image, and I know a lot of us prefer the shows with more of it.

I agree, her interaction with the audience feels so genuine you don't cringe. It's almost a talent in itself.
I actually wanted to refer to the Chicago concert where she took a great deal of time with the selfie/singing competition segment she even admited she was afraid she would pass curfew time, and as a consequence she skipped AIA. As a fan i'm not complaining, i'd rather listen to her stories all day, but to the unfamiliar audience they might have had different expectations.
Though i might be wrong, i didn't attend her concert. From what i've seen on twitter/instagram people don't seem to mind her talking.
