And when I see people in this thread drag my religion/part of my identity,I will feel like they insulted me and disrespected me,for being a muslim. So yeah I have the nerve to defend Islam and yes Christianity is the ALLTIME WORST religion. Colonialism alone....was just.... EVIL.
So evil that people in the present are still victims, cuz of the result of colonialism...
And yes I know that the middle east also had a hand in colonialism, but NOTHING
compares to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade!

I'm beginning to think you are either trolling or you don't anything at all and you need to be educated as soon as possible.
The biggest problem in the Middle East is that the common uneducated citizens do not know their religion at all. And if a leader comes and directs them into a direction that is absolutely horrifying they go there without questioning. That is Islam's main problem, people can get easily manipulated with it. Kinda like Donald Trump using racism and xenophobia to manipulate brainless people in the US but with greater values cause people in this region die and murder for their God. If you'd bother to read instead of spreading nonsense here's something that can help you.

Islam is a lifestyle and I just adore it The halal eating, the no alcohol,no drugs rules.....ramadan......the feeling of being connected with others cuz of your religion....it teaches alot of good things, too. Always be nice to your fellow human ,unless they are threatening you etc..
It gives my life depth And it teaches you how to be a good/clean human being.
(if u skip the the weird parts, that cant be in 2016)
I recommend it.....

Okay, you just ignore my previous post. Cause you are basically really, really stupid and there is no hope for you. Good luck with your life.

also in my part of the world, law comes before religion.

No it is not. But if you really wanna be politically correct you can call them easily manipulated, because they are.

Almost no one supports the coup in Turkey though. Opposing coup ≠ Supporting Erdogan

the European - USA democracy system , Pro- secularism was HEAVEN to the civilians of the west as the progression of rights, technology, science and economy . HOWEVER, it was HELL on the other part of earth. a disgrace of humanity . humans in third-world countries matter too u know .
one must condemn all the innocents taken by the terror of ISIL but also condemn the Forgotten ones of the other part of the world.

So a dictatorship is better? And literally noone was supporting the coup in Turkey, but we don't want dictatorship either.

Turks of atrl... is it actually possible that over 6,000 soldiers could be imprisoned as a result of this? Where will they go, do you have the space? They aren't going to be killed are they? 🤔

the countries that became secular were more progressive after they saw the destruction WW2 caused and that's why America, Europe and Asian countries as well as Australia and South America became more united while middle east countries got lost, and Africa is another story. If they wanted, to could've been a part of it, but they choose to go the other direction (See Iran) and that's why they see so much problem

They'll probably be locked for a couple of decades. They don't even deserve to be arrested. All they wanted is to make Turkey a better place and this is what they get for.

News has been reporting the impact on tourism. 2.5M people from the UK used to choose Turkey has their holiday destination and over the last couple of years there's been a significant decrease. I can only imagine the loss of tourism as of next year following the attacks over the last year and of course this coup attempt.
I've only travelled to Turkey once.. was to the southwest, and after checking the risk map, it's still a safe area for tourists. I really don't think the majority of tourism from the UK is/was to the southeast, so why are people just not bothering to visit altogether? Do people not bother checking? Turkey's like 300 sq mi. Can't be good for the economy at all 🤔

Mess. I don't think it's fair for >6,000 to lose their jobs, perhaps just the leaders of the coup to be held accountable. It wasn't like ALL of them were involved in an orchestrated coup attempt. No one knew this was happening, not even Turkey itself (excluding the leaders because I don't trust them atm.) It's just confusing and doesn't really make sense. Hopefully as they're apart of NATO that any corruption from within will be uncovered and exposed.

Well since yesterday they've been talking about bringing back the death penalty, so everything is on the table for now. But I assume most of them will be locked up as a message to the masses and they might get killed in prison because people don't like "traitors". However, most of them were people on their compulsory military service and didn't know anything about what was going on. So their lives are ruined. I am also concerned about the judges and DA's, they'll be imprisoned as well. so at least 8k people will have to face federal charges I guess.

I saw the CNN-Turk video and noticed most of the soldiers were young, maybe in their early 20s? Death penalty though The future doesn't look good for Turkey.

Compulsory military service has to start at the age of 18 here unless you are in college or trying to go to college, some of them might have been 18-19 too, but most of them were indeed in their early 20s.

no.
it is the one like u that should stop talking . military coups r finished . know that , accept it and move on.
those who did the failed attempt must be punished coz if God forbidden they succeeded , they would pull back Turkey into the Ataturk version of poverty and retardation . No mercy for them , they r traitors regardless of what ideology the elected government comes from .
Military Riot is Forbidden coz the happening of military riots is a sign of reactionary act that will ultimately destroy any hope of civil state . Egypt is the most recent example of that. some Europe and US politicians need to understand that. i do not care about the ideology or hidden agenda of any party is having . Military coup is deadly . if the Turkish secular opposition wants to get red of Erdogan, then they need to work on their companions to convince the citizens .
