Not a big fan of either. Cheap Thrills deserves to take back #1.

Rise is yet another disingenuous/hackneyed "empowerment anthem" from Katy. She had all those banners and it took her that long to reach the #1 spot? Everyone should be dragging. Everytime she releases a lead she literally has to shove it down everyones throats in order for them to pay attention and care about it. How any of you still support her, how any of you aren't tired of her disingenuous ******** is beyond me. Not to mention the fact that she happened to "surprise" release on the same day as Britney which had it been Gaga you would all be ****ing crucifying her for it.

I think it's going to be Katy. Capitol does not mess around with her. I don't even think there are THAT many Katy Cats, her team is just extremely good at marketing. Although I defend her a lot, there always feels like there's something ruthless going on behind the scenes for her to pull through. Not that that's cheating or anything, it's pulling through at the end of the day. The Olympics are huge and so this song will be too. Global Sports will do wonders for a song... just look at Waka Waka Africa. And yet again she's about to score another hit regardless of whether or not the song is even good. It's average.

I'm rooting for Britney though, even though the song is just OK and I'm not a big fan. She doesn't suffocate the world with marketing tactics anymore, she literally just wants to be a mom now, and idk that makes me root for her over Katy
