[QUOTE=ShineOverShadow;35203992]Unfortunately, that's not true. The only reason that Booker was voted in on a special election was because the sitting senator passed away. They wouldn't be able to call for a special election if he becomes VP, unfortunately. So Christie would be able to appoint his replacement who would remain there until the 2020 election. /QUOTE]
Not really, but point stands. From what I heard, a special election was held in NJ after a sitting senator passed away not because of rule but because Gov. Chris Christie was afraid of Booker challenging him in his Gubernatorial re-election. So he held a senate election to take Booker to Capitol Hill.
Regardless, NJ does not mandate a special election. Chris Christie will appoint a replacement.
------
New polls from NBC/WSJ/Marist:
CO: Clinton 43, Trump 35
FL: Clinton 44, Trump 37
NC: Clinton 44, Trump 38
VA: Clinton 44, Trump 35
July 5-11
and downballot:
FL: Rubio 47, Murphy 44 (good considering recent Murphy scandals)
CO: Bennet 53, Glenn 38 (looks Likely D hold now)
NC: Burr 48, Ross 41 (not great for Ross in a Tilt R seat that Dems will want to pick up; but she's outraising Burr so potential is there. PPP shows her even)
NC: Cooper 49, McCrory 45 (Cooper to take the governors mansion back from the transphobe.)
This may be awful to say, but with what has happened in Dallas and now Nice, France... will help Trump's campaign and get him elected.
It won't. It'll only strengthen support from his base.

Hillary is killing it. Quinnipiac is a mistake because 1) The poll was taken over a week. Longer polls are usually inaccurate. 2) The heavily white sample.
Why is Hillary and the Senators winning, or close to winning, in all the other polls, but not that one..... Right.
I don't think Quinnipiac was a mistake. They do have good data points and if you compare previous editions of the same poll it shows a Clinton lead fading, as every other pollster shows. It's giving the same trend. Remember Quinnipiac has an A- rating as a pollster so clearly they know what they're doing
Quinnipac is notorious for being swingy in FL because of their problems sampling Latino's... same thing happened in 2012 when there was one volatile swing to Romney.
I won't read too much into one poll despite its credibility, especially since that one poll had an oversampled white demographic.
Mike Pence, Trump's Likely VP Pick, Is Too Anti-Gay Even for Republicans
by Jay Michaelson
In choosing Mike Pence as his running mate, Donald Trump has shored up the GOP's religious base. But based on the Indiana governor's disastrous run-in with pro-business Republicans and moderates last year over gay rights, Trump may have just lost the election. ... If Mike Pence were merely a foe of abortion, that would be one thing. But Trump has chosen the poster child for "Religious Freedom" and anti-gay discrimination – precisely where pro-business Republicans have drawn the line. http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...publicans.html
I don't think he really had much of a choice. Pence is generally very well-spoken even though I don't agree with him, and is also relatively unknown outside of Indiana. Christie is pretty much universally despised at this point, and Gingrich has too big of a mouth.
Maybe the GOP knows they're gonna get demolished in November so they're sacrificing someone
Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb and US Reps Todd Rokita and Susan Brooks have all withdrawn from their races, so they're in contention for the Governor race. Anyone currently running for office now cannot withdraw from the ballot.
People not currently running for office, such as former Indy mayor Greg Ballard, and former Indiana governor and current Purdue president Mitch Daniels have 72 hours to throw their names in. Mitch Daniels already said he won't run though.
Mitch Daniels was actually a good governor. When things like RFRA appeared on his desk, he vetoed them. He's pretty universally liked. I'm not sure if people like him or Evan Bayh more.
FURIOUS CHRISTIE REFUSES TO PICK UP TRUMP’S DRY CLEANING
Governor Chris Christie, of New Jersey, angrily refused to pick up Donald Trump’s dry cleaning during a tense encounter between the two men on Friday, campaign sources confirm.
The ugly scene unfolded at the billionaire’s offices in midtown Manhattan, shortly after Trump revealed that his Vice-Presidential pick would be Governor Mike Pence of Indiana.
According to Trump aides, Christie stomped into the presumptive Republican nominee’s office and hurled a dry-cleaning ticket onto his desk, telling Trump, “You can pick up your own damn dry cleaning.”
The New Jersey governor then stormed out, and has not been seen by Trump or his staffers since.

If this is true

I think she's testing all her VP options with the people and so far Warren has had the best response.
Yeah that's exactly what she's doing. Testing them out on the campaign trail.
