It's a really tricky situation for Chinese idols. On the one hand, I do think that the Chinese government is pulling the strings on its artists/citizens to be vocal about the issue on social media. But on the other hand, seeing that brainwashing citizens (textbooks, news, etc.) is common in China, I wouldn't be surprised if some of these artists are genuinely patriotic and impassioned about this whole thing. Heck, Victoria even went as far as changing her IG profile pic
