Shendelzare - I really enjoy the composition of this piece. It's unique, fresh, but it also still gives me that artsy vibe that I would associate with a graphic design competition. The color palette is appealing, your cutting is pretty good, and I love the explosion of paint as the centerpoint. It's like a manifestation of inner creativity! 9/10
prezli - I remember that your design aesthetic from season two was very minimalist. Simplicity is sometimes very key in design, and I think you were able to stay true to yourself with this adorable banner. The overall concept of notebook paper, splatter paint, and cut out letters just exudes a desire to engage in the creative process. Ultimately, it lacks a bit of punch that the other banners have, but it's a good way to start the season! 8.5/10
MasterXPosed - One of my favorite color schemes is violet/neutrals, and it's simply divine when combined with the sleek font you chose! This is a really solid design. My only suggestion would be to maybe play around with the placement of the text some more. The "hosted by" text in particular seems a bit random. 9/10
BYoncé - If someone had told me they were doing a yellow, brown, and blue logo for this challenge, I would have initially thought it would be a disaster. However, you really made this color palette work for you and I'm quite impressed! You crafted a very positive and fun atmosphere with your banner, and I really love the fonts you chose, as well as their placement. Great work! 9/10
Dom - I know that you can design some awesome banners, having seen your super sleek Les ATRLers design aesthetic. This entry feels like you were heading down that same road, but then stopped halfway. I really like the blue X in the background, as well as the masking you did with "Photoshop Game". All of that works well together. The "Hosted By Dom" section is what really throws the composition off for me. It feels superfluous and distracting between the repeated words and the hypnotic pink fill inside of "DOM". Sometimes sticking with one color group and pattern can be beneficial! 7.5/10
URBAN - This definitely goes down as one of the more UNIQUE entries this round lol. Regardless of the comedic and somewhat confusing choice in imagery, the technique here is really solid. The cutout layers all look good, and I think the composition is very professional with a succinct color scheme, eye-catching font, and memorable layout. 8.5/10
Xedretinz - This is a cute entry that captures the basics of Photoshop. You definitely have an eye for shapes, as I see you playing around with the banner shape and with the series of lines at the bottom. Lines are one of the BEST things you can work with in a design, as you can create so many cool geometric forms with a set of lines. My main suggestion for you is to pay attention to your arrangement of text, as the words on this banner do not flow very well for me. This design is not in the top of the pack this week, but it shows a strong foundation in Photoshop and shape/color that I think will serve you well moving forward. Also, I love the slogan! 6.5/10
DevonDreams - Ooh, grayscale! Definitely a unique approach here, but I dig it. I like the shapes that you used -- the thick lines and circle look really cool for a banner. I would say that you definitely have to be careful with the vibrancy/contrast of your image. At some glances, this banner kind of blends together a bit, and creating definition between different shapes can be cool in a piece like this. Also, I would be careful about text in the future -- if you want to center something, make sure it's in the center. If you don't want something centered, it's usually best to not put it close to the center, as it might look like a mistake more than a decision. 8/10
Hurem - This entry is a standout for me. I absolutely love the teal and black combination. It's actually the same color scheme I used for my family business' logo. Devil Breeze is a great font too. The shapes in the background form a really cool geometric sequence, and you did a great job of putting this all together in a professional way. My only complaint is that some of the lettering appears a bit pixelated around the edges, but it's not overtly noticeable! 9.5/10
LiMe - I really love the 3D effect you used on the game's title! It's very fun and eye catching. However, I do think that the energy created by the text is dragged down a bit by the colors used elsewhere. The combination doesn't work together too well, unfortunately. I think a darker background color, or even a transparent background could have allowed the star of your graphic -- the text -- to shine more. 8/10
Marnie - Creating a GIF in Photoshop can be tricky, so I give you props there! I like the overall vibe of this. It has a cool, creative spirit inside of it, and seems to call contestants to ignite their inner fire for graphic design. I would say working on font selection will be good for you moving forward. These fonts feel a bit haphazard together, and I think you could have created a more dramatic energy with more modern type, perhaps? For example, the font used for your name would have been great for the title! 7.5/10
