Yes people are rude and that doesn't excuse the behavior or downplay it.
these weak excuses of it being done on social media is deflection from the fact that he went to someone's face to be rude and outrageous.
Many people take criticism in stride that doesn't mean all people do it or have gotten to the point of doing that.
It also doesn't mean that people should hide behind the freedom of speech thing.
I swear when Donald Trump makes comments ATRL is up in arms and I rarely here these excuses being used.

at the defending, people have free speech but they only use if it's for a good purpose. The bully's laugh at the end of the clip should be an enough proof that he's exploiting free speech for attention. Yes, she wasn't threathen physically but rather verbally but that is still bullying (I'm experiencing it myself.)
