I enjoyed your opting for an experimental structure for this piece, I was hoping more contestants would attempt it for their soundtracks this week. You’ve clearly communicated this isn’t a pop song.
I’ll be forward and state my dislike of the actual content of your song: it’s an awkward mix of retelling the events of the movie in chronological order, along with little embellishment and straight up ambiguity in relation to the actual genre of the movie. I wouldn’t be able to tell what genre this franchise is if presented with this song, even with the events of the film being captured here. If you wanted to recount the movie (Which I think is sort of a boring interpretation of the challenge), you should’ve avoided genericizing it.

I didn't think that there was
that much retelling of the plot, was there? Obviously, I started out with references to his poor home life with the Dursleys because I needed to set up the song to demonstrate why he wanted to get out of there… after that, the plot references were basically limited to "seen my parents' faces for the first time," which I thought was a particularly poignant and important detail, and a couple of other details that I think have both literal and metaphorical interpretations. Other than that, I was mostly focused on trying to capture the themes of the film: particularly the sense of homecoming and self-discovery that characterized Harry's return to the wizarding world in Philosopher's Stone.
Anyways, I'm glad that you appreciated the more unusual structure of the song. It was weird writing something that had no chorus or hook of any sort.

First of all, there is no ghost in the Fat Lady's painting.
Second of all, I am disgusted by your lack of appreciation for the defining pop culture phenomenon of the millenium.
