I still don't know what EVs are or how you train for them, I was just planning on rushing through and only fighting trainers so I can stay underleveled with this traded ass team

They're basically extra points in stats at Level 100. You gain them automatically whenever you battle a Pokémon. Some Pokémon give you certain EV points in one stat (a Ziggagoon gives one Speed EV). 4 EVs equal 1 point at Level 100. You can have a max of 252 EVs in one stat (for a total of 510 altogether with six leftover EVs) which is equal to 63 extra points. So I can have a Zubat with 252 EVs in ATK and 252 EVs in Speed for total of 504 with 6 leftovers in HP: 6 / 252 / 252. Zubat will be stronger with 63 extra points in both ATK and Speed.
