Vanilla Ice & MC Hammer have the most consecutive weeks for a Rap album, both of them set it back in 1990. (Drake isn't breaking it, their albums spent like 20 weeks at #1)
But if Drake gets this week he ties Eminem's "Eminem Show" in 2000 with 8 weeks. Then ofcourse, he has next week on lock so he passes Eminem.
He'll have the most consecutive weeks at #1 for a Rap album since 1990, most consecutive for a Rap album in Soundscan era (1991-present), and the 3rd most consecutive weeks for a Rap album ever.
And once he gets the 9th week, that's the longest a male album has spent consecutively of any genre since Billy Ray Cyrus in 1992 w/ 17 weeks at #1.
So clearly his label wants to get this week so they can flaunt those achievements.
