Nah, American pop music is on a steep decline anyways
The global markets of Korea and such have expanded significantly, while the American market continues to decline
Americans are preferring breaks as well
For example, McDonald's (i.e. the Katy Perry of fast food) is significantly declining because more and more Americans are preferring to sit and eat now vs. getting things fast and on the go
Quality > quantity
Hence why the cumshot model of music that artists like Gaga utilized in the beginning of the digital age doesn't work anymore
American culture is (thankfully) shifting to the views of the rest of the world
