Idk if it's too late but;
I took mine as hand luggage to bring into the plane which worked fine, I didn't dare putting it in my bag though it worked well when my mom
got me a vinyl in the US.

Honestly I don't think you're going to find anything decent under $100 (don't ever consider buying a Crosley it was the worst decision I've ever made). The best thing you can get is an Audio-Technica AT-LP60 for $120.
