Yeah I'm scoring as if I'm the person who vets the demos before they actually get to the label boss (Jackson)

This is typically you, and I like to see contestants with unique styles: but that simply wasn’t the point of this week. You were meant to pick an artist and write something in their style. That’s it. I don’t feel like you did as much as you should have to fit what Temporal was asking for. There’s no way I’d accept this demo.
PS: I have no idea why YOU didn’t sign up for my label, of all people, when what I was looking for was definitely in your wheelhouse. Even if you were planning on just sticking to your style, you would’ve gotten a better score there than under Temporal’s label. Figuring out where to submit your demos is perhaps the most necessary skill for any real-life songwriter that’s starting, believe it or not.
CountryBritney –
I think this might work for King Glade. Its meter and rhyme schemes are consistently applied so that the piece retains its catchiness, and therefore would be engaging to the pop crowd. It still has some concessions to the indie scene however, with usage of specific names and strange details such as “your mind on anti-depressants”.
It’s not the most interesting song ever for me, but I feel like it would fit what the label is asking for.
HausofNiko –
I usually don’t point out grammar and spelling issues unless they seriously detract from enjoyment of the piece: and boy, do they detract from enjoyment of the piece. Literally at least one mistake in every stanza. It’s unprofessional, either be more meticulous or get a proofreader.
Besides the words themselves, there’s same fairly hackneyed choices for rhymes here, resulting in the especially forced case of you accidentally setting up a metaphor that doesn’t work by saying your mind is in a drought. This piece overall is sloppier than what I’d expect at this stage: though you almost reach a good metaphor that you unintentionally set up: one that relates the rotating celestial sphere to a ballerina. Close, and very cool if it was purposeful (I know it wasn’t), but still a missed opportunity. I think a few rewrites beefing up your central metaphor would’ve done this piece some good.
As is, this is too unfinished of a demo for Temporal’s artist, in my opinion.
Dylobs –
You really pulled of your imagery quite nicely. I like how you invoke all five senses: taste, sight, scent, touch, and hearing. You took your time with this piece, and it really shows. This is just really, really well done.
I’m worried that a song so blatantly about a drowning-suicide won’t resonate with the pop audience that King Glade is trying to attract. It definitely will be a favorite among his established base, however.

While I appreciate the realism, I sort of have the same "complaint" (I don't mean to sound ungrateful but I don't know how else to word it) as Moonchild -- here's what Jackson said to me:

You did I great job fulfilling the theme and capturing the essence of my artist

Not sure where the line gets drawn here, just want to point this out.

Doesn't the label head choose who gets the boost? So if it's a diff label that doesn't agree, don't worry about it?

My reviews/scores are completely independent of every other judges, and vice versa. Same as every week. What swiftie says about a song doesn't affect how Temporal feels. Sorry, but my opinion's the same.

This too. If you get picked, the bonus will offset some of my score anyways.

The label head chooses who gets the boost, but from his reviews, it seems like 8th is also scoring by how well the song fits the label description. This results in confusion when the label head thinks it fits his own label but another judge doesn't.

Okay, that's fine. I mean I can recognize my song wasn't really the best this week anyway (lowkey wrote half of it while watching the Warriors game). Just wanted to point it out.

I think what we've learned is to make the labels more specific if this challenge comes up again I assume y'all didn't want to ~limit our creativity~ but there was a lot of confusion. I thought getting the go ahead to write a "mature song like 4AD's stuff" made my song OK, but should have paid more attention to the challenge post tbh.

Poor my grammar. No wonder why I got a C on my English exam.
Thanks for the review, I'll make sure it's good next week

Not 8th being the only judge to catch "More stronger"! I feel like a remedial English student, now…

Thank you 8th for your review! I'm glad you thought I fit the challenge . It was out of my comfort zone so I'm happy that I was able to come through in that aspect.
I'm a little disappointed you thought the second half was a little weak but overall I understand what you mean. Consistency throughout a song is something I'll work on if I make it through to the next round.

Nnn I'm gonna be out during results, but that's fine! From the short notice, there doesn't seem to be sign ups. I'm also happy that Hor thought my sing fit his label because nobody else really did hytjnbkgm
