I don't get why people are trying to discredit Katy's #1 hits. They are all legitimate #1 hits, they topped the chart and stayed there, as mentioned in the quote from the article. They aren't fluke #1's that got to the top because of manipulation and then dropped off the top spot unlike some the #1's from another female artist.
Tity's TD era wasn't groundbreaking or anything of the sort. She ran to Luke for some catchy throwaway pop (mind you it was so omnipresent in 2011 that LMFAO got two very long #1s) and radio spammed her songs and they smashed and now they're hardly remembered. In two decades when people look back at the '10s, nobody is gonna look back and say "Wow that Katy Perry song/album/video was so great".
