I thought about getting Paper Mario, but June is almost over and I still have to beat Banjo Kazooie, Shantae, Hyrule Warriors Legends, and FF XII-2 this summer

I watched the first episode of the anime and enjoyed the humor. I get bored easily with Pokemon-like games tho, and was worried the same would happen with Yokai.

It's a cute game, and I like that they didn't get rid of a lot of the mature humor. Like didn't that sequence involve helping an old man find his underwear in the bathhouse?

It's not like the others at all. They made battles literally pointless and detrimental to you, it's pretty generic, all interesting characters are replaced with toads, there's too much backtracking, the story is stupid af, no partners, stickers are annoying, etc.

Literally no point to the battles. No experience points, FP, partners, unique fleshed out characters, or cool areas. The game just uses one time use stickers for attacks that you go around the overworld collecting, and the game is about as unique as the cast of a New Super Mario bros game XD

My suggestion is play The Thousand Year Door, and then if you can bear a genre change to tolerate a still interesting story, then play Super Paper Mario. Then never touch the series again!

Super Paper Mario just came out on eShop for like $20. It's different as it's mainly a platformer like most Mario games but with some RPG elements. The gameplay is still very fun and addicting. It arguably has the best story of all of the PM games, it's very well written on all fronts. I absolutely recommend this after you finish PM64.

Sticker Star is amazing, but it's not JRPG, it's Adventure. I have been dying to replay that game, I need to find myself a cheap copy.

Paper Jam, on the other hand, is so bad that I sold my game before I even finished it. All the Mario & Luigi games are pretty tragic, save for Bowser's Inside Story.

I think it was a conversation about Sheik specifically getting her own game, was it not?

Zelda as Sheik makes much more sense than Princess Zelda anyway. I could imagine a cute stealth focused game starring Sheik. And I'm pretty sure Nintendo doesn't have any IPs that focus on stealth atm

But the stealth part of each Zelda game is always my least favorite part
