The article goes on to state that with the recent failures of 4MINUTE’s albums 4MINUTE was seen by iHQ as a non-profitable group and as profit took priority over music, became an “unnecessary” group to CUBE.

Hyuna who was successful as a solo artist was able to resign but the rest were abandoned.

The members, according to this reporter, wished to resign with the company but no one could help them. CEO Hong who discovered 4MINUTE loved 4MINUTE as his own and CUBE suffered great pain through this incident.

“If this was CUBE run by CEO Hong, a different outcome would have been reached..”

As if the situation can't get any worse.

But when the news came out, CUBE blamed the members and said they tried to stop them but it was "their decision" not to resign.

A rep said, “As the contract end date approaches, the members have been in discussions for renewal, but while the agency tried to persuade them to continue the group, it ended up accepting the decision by the five members that they will not continue as a group.” The rep adds, “Due to the different opinion of the members, for all intents and purposes, the group will disband.”

I feel like Cube would be stupid to force the 4 members out of the company given that they don't exactly have many other artists who can bring any money into the business right now. I mean, who does Cube actually have left? B2ST? And they're falling apart too.

And to think a couple years ago they were almost in a position where they could usurp JYP into the Big 3. They couldn't keep up I guess.

Expect to see Hyuna in a lot of beer commercials. A lot of them.

When those rumors of CEO Hong being ill and having ALS first surfaced I think right after "What's Your Name" went viral, it really went downhill from there for everyone at Cube. It wasn't long ago iHCube left G.NA out in the wilderness to fend for herself against those sponsor allegations. That "Cube family" nonsense pretty much done.

It's just business as SidusHQ has a reputation of building up new stars and then letting them go when the overhead becomes to large. Sure, they lose out on a Song Joongki, but it's this aggressive behavior that has allowed them to grow as an agency and later as a production company at a very fast rate.

Heck, when they got back into the idol music business in 2011-2012, eventually debuting a girl group called 2EYES, as they found out how difficult it was, they went ahead and acquired Cube. Meanwhile, 2EYES were essentially abandoned in the middle of preparations for their comeback promo after the Cube deal was finalized. They are a very aggressive company, indeed.
