Serena has said she was pissed about the loss, she was carrying extra weight she now burned off, and she's found the motivation she's been missing since the USO 2015
She'll win this one

Wait, link ?
The fact that Serena wasn't pissed off after USO 2015 and didn't go on full demolition mode still irks me to this day. And then when she was SO happy Kerber won the AO I was like, wait what ? Thankfully the RG loss hurt so bad, you could see it. Serena is going to do Wimbledon, Olympics S+D, USO 2012 style !

1. She can't always come back, she won't when she is 40, 45, 50 years old and so on
2. Surprise! She is #1 in the race this year

Talking about the 2016 race. Did you know that Genie is above Errani, Venus, Wozniacki, Petkovic, Jankovic, Makarova in the race this year and only 33 points behind Petra?

Yea, I think she will repeat her 2012 this year, too! She needs to find the serve first though
The way she served at Wimbledon and Olympics
And that Razzano loss was very very bad at RG'12, it motivated her a lot

There's a video here too. She was pissed after Roland Garros (Mug is a girl who should be Sharapova'd every time) and I'm happy. I want her mad, I want her angry.
The weight loss one was on her snapchat. She said she was working with Mackie and lost the extra 13lbs or so she was carrying
And as for her motivation well the quote above in the link is enough proof. But she also had on her snapchat she feels motivated after having a "very deep talk" with Mourataglou

Girl, the gap is so huge between Serena and the other ones, look how she played RG, barely moving and she still lost the first set by one point when Mugu was basically peaking . Serena can play well into her forties if she doesn't get a major injury and she'd be able to hover around 10-20 and be a threat at Wimbledon or the USO.
@RatedG Thanks ! If she's mad, fit, and focused then I pity the other girls, there's a few who needs a spanking. Kerber, Mugu, Vika needs to be put in their place ! She already got Kuzzy's ass at Rome, angry Serena doesn't play

I'm not gonna even hope and pray her opponents drop out. She seems to play better with difficult draws and flops easy ones (like her last 3 slams)

PETRA what the **** is wrong with you?!
That's what you get for being such a lazy, entitled bitch who cries on instant gratification, and blames losses because you had a period.
And on your favourite surface too.
You're perhaps the most infuriating player to stan for, I can't believe I stuck with you through thin and thick since 2011, and you just keep on disappointing not only us, but yourself.
So much talent and potential in you, and yet you take it for granted.
You are still my queen Petra, but you're just... too difficult to forgive.
I hate to say it, but you're done. You're career is done.
Time to move on to the Muguruza bandwagon. The real queen of WTA's post-Serena era

Why on earth did she call off her engagement with Radek? This year is such a mess for her.
Not with a first round loss vs Flipkens

The scheduling has been abhorrent. Absolutely no reason to not use every court over the past few days instead of trying to put Konta and La Borz on CC.

Serena doesn't have to 'come back' from anything though. Let's put it in perspective. She has made 2 finals and 1 semi-final in her last 3 Grand Slams. That isn't fading. It's nerves. She just needs to find a way to control these nerves in order to finish the job. It gets harder to do as you get older, but she just needs to do it a couple of more times before she retires.
I'd be worried if she was struggling to make it past a quarter-final in a slam. However, she's still making finals and has technically had the best year of the WTA.
I don't think she'll do it at Wimbledon (just an inkling), but she will get redemption and revenge at the US Open, hopefully against Vinci.

For sure her year is still pretty great, just not for her standard. Plus, she shouldn't be losing to Kerber and Mug, and she hasn't play like she can in a very long time now, in that sense she needs to come back. She's pretty much unfit too, unmotivated. Have you seen her level of play during IW and Miami ?
RG was shaky too, like since when does she lose a set to Putintseva of all people ? But she'll truly dominate again, the girls are still struggling against subpar Serena so the gap is still huge.

Trust me, I agree. Which is why it annoys me when people claim she played well in the RG final. What planet are these people living on? Fans of Serena know what it looks like when Serena's playing well, she cannot be beaten. Never have I seen Serena been beaten when she's playing well apart from when she played her sister early in their career. I think maybe Azarenka has beaten her a couple of times when she's played well, but that's it. So many WTA journalists and pundits had bean waiting and waiting to push the narrative that the WTA had found a 'new champion' for the 'new generation', so much that they didn't care about logic. Serena not playing well didn't fit their narrative and therefore they didn't admit to it.
Serena has played awfully all year, which gives me confidence that if she can start playing well again, she'll easily win a slam. If she can get to two finals playing kinda bad tennis, I have no doubt she has a lot left in the tank.
I wasn't happy with her reactions to her AO loss either. I knew something was wrong mentally when she was smiling and laughing after losing. People may say it's 'gracious', but I don't care about graciousness, and I don't support Serena because she's gracious. I support her because she's a fighter, a perfectionist, a champion, who can't bear to lose. She needs to go back to that mentality. I saw a bit of it after her RG loss.

SO true, Vika was a real challenger. Cincinnati 2013 is a match that Serena lost fair and square. I agree, looks like the RG loss was a wake up call for her. She has no threat on grass, Peak Venus is not happening, and even if it does Venus peak level is no longer good enough to beat Serena. Peak Kvitova could beat Serena even if she plays well, but let's be realistic Peak Kvitova is not happening either
