Because those white people are the tumblr/hipster crowd white people (a much smaller number) than the general basic white people demographic that Drake appeals to.
And Kendrick is an actual lyricist whose music is very complex and has a very strong pro-black message. Obviously white people aren't going to keep an album whose title track is "King Kunta" at #1 as long as something with One Dance
