I can see why it doesn't come across as a sequel, although I think Royals as a narrative piece definitely has the potential for an exploration as a sequel, considering its a critique of fame which Lorde now enjoys.

What I suggest you look out for is to spread detail out evenly: “a bad habit” isn’t the level of storybuilding you need to be at in this stage of the competition.

Thanks 8th, I actually had a line in there about domestic violence, but it didn't fit my meter so I just swapped it for bad habit, as kind of a hint about violence, it didn't really work but I was a bit rushed for time.
