I think it's a charisma thing. Camila has it. Camila's smile and energy seems to hit everyone immediately in person, on stage and through a TV screen. Plus she's willing to try new things all the time, with her time, with her voice, songwriting, guitar playing, you name it. And her vocals live are the most consistent and we all know how distinct her voice is.
Lauren is gorgeous but not as approachable to most people and she's not as willing to try different things with her vocals. It takes her a LONG time to work up the nerve (and it's SO CUTE when she does and then becomes confident in it) And when she has time off she almost never wants to spend it working on other projects. She wants to go on vacation, see her friends and family. She doesn't ever seem to want more fame or more attention. She finds her time and schedule controlled enough without giving over her time to anyone else.
