Color Correcting is what i do before foundation/concealer, i basically try to neutralise any off colors (like redness or dark circles etc) so i don't have to use a lot of foundation trying to cover them.
Mattifying gel is because i have combination skin so i use it to prevent it from getting oily over my t zone.

What color corrector do u use for redness? i got a few spots that I wanna cover rather than just putting on a lot of foundation.

Green should cancel any redness
Salmon/Orange for the blue/dark circles
Purple for any yellowish/dulness you have

Do you really need foundation? Like are you aiming for covering lots of scars/blemishes or more for a cream to give your face a neutral tone?

I'd recommend tinted moisturisers as they just make the skin glow and doesnt wash away any features. (cheekbones etc)

I try to stay away from foundation these days, i feel like it just washes out my face.
or at least go to low coverage ones like the Dior spray Makeup Forever HD is too much for my "natural" look

Yeah, I've seen this video of a girl comparing ingredients and stuff, showing proofs, but idk Lip products are my least favorite, I'm too lazy for this.

7. Setting Powder for face & eyes
8. Bronzer
9. Contour (Cheekbones, nose, forehead, temples)
10. Highlight
11. Brows (I'm very messy with my foundation so i leave brows for later)
12. Mascara/Liner on outer corner of eyes
13. Setting Sprays
14 .Shimmering highlight/ Luminizers (they glow way more when you apply them after a spray)
15. Lip tint

Sounds like a lot, but i try to aim for a "natural" look

@B'day there is no exact right way to apply make up (apart from the obvious things like primer before foundation etc)
But a lot of people prefer to do their brows before their foundation, i don't because I'm messy with my beauty blender and i tend to dab at my brows and get foundation on.
I like to contour after i bronze but most prefer the other way round (also i tend to bronze then contour then go bronze again, then go contour again because I'm a mess and I'm addicted)
Some swap the order of concealer and foundation
I know some that contour under foundation for a more natural look

Depends on your preference and what you like to stand out really

Also if anyone could tell what I should get when I go shopping for the first time that would be good too.

I don't really use full coverage foundations, but I saw people using them as a concealer, so I guess it could work. If you need something under the eyes, I recommend something light, like True Match concealer by L'Oreal if you find the right color.

I'd just buy foundation, powder, mascara, blush, eventually bronzer and/or highlighter and maybe 2-3 eyeshadows for basic eye makeup or eyeshadow palette and lipstick. Also some brushes and/or sponge.

If you're not sure about any of those, try to find cheap brand that might have what you're looking for, look for few reviews and try cheaper version first - that's what I did with eyeliners and bronzers, just to see if they're for me. I read reviews, so I know it's not a waste of money and I get decent quality, but if it wasn't for me, I wouldn't feel bad.

Maybe that's just me, but I'm not a MUA or anything, so I didn't have a need to start with expensive, hq products + I can't spend all my money on makeup And drugstore brands aren't bad. You can also check eyebrow products if you're interested, if you have nice brows you can just check out brow gels.

It's not colorpop's factory who manufactures it, but colorpop's sister company that does.

If it works for you thats fine! But typically a foundation would crease a lot easier under the eye.
Concealers are much thicker in consistency.

I'd rank these as the most imp (assuming you have foundation)

1) Primer
2) Moisturiser
3) Concealer
4) Setting Powder
5) Bronzer
6) Setting Spray

And a Beauty Blender of course.
