SECOND, They downgrade ratings for the general audience to get more views in.
THIRD, I know what the ATRL staff and guidelines utilize for the mods and the posters. You are suppose to be set apart from "normal" posters. I think a "normal" poster would have that avi and probably get a WP from a mod.

You know, what really impresses me about Friends is how well they managed to do the Joey and Rachel sequence in the later seasons. AND it felt organic.
Any other sitcoms doing the whole "Guy loves girl, friends talk him out of it, girl later likes guy, feelings fizzle" would just come across as TACKY (@ How I met Your Mother). But not Friends.
