This. what's worse is when an urban artist sells out because a white artist doesn't have to sell out. they are just looked at as cool and edgy.
However, very few can crossover and maintain their artistry.
Most sell out and water down their sound which alienates their core and mainstream only uses them for what they want and tosses them to the side.
Then a white artist comes in and slays out of nowhere.
I'm calling it: This decade no other rapper will have the album sales/grammy sales and #1 hits that macklemore had in totality.
No rap artist female or male will have a crossover rap hit that hit #1 on pop/rhy/urban/streams/digitals and possibly airplay and be nominated in two of 4 major grammy categories.
No rap artist will lazily put out mediocre (far from the best) albums and be a shoe in to win best rap album like Eminem has quite a few times.
The game is cruel
