Where in Italy have you been to say that? Especially the homophobic and mysoginist part, the blatant lies. Especially from someone who lives in Portugal
Also, the Spanish people are always happy to have Italians as tourists, and if you go to pretty much any country if you say you're Italian you'll be treated with warmth and respect. You sound pressed against my country, huh?

What about Portugal? The country who is known for treating everyone with kindness and respect and one of the most liberal European countries?

even old people here who don't know English literally do the most to help tourists in need

.
I went to Erasmus twice, once in Hungary which I loved so much that it made me want to do Erasmus in another place and I chose Italy (visited most of it) , it was one of the worst experiences of my life, i'm not the only one saying this since most people I know that went there also had bad experiences with the community, I wouldn't expect much from a country whereas south and north are always in conflict as if they were enemies so it was not really surprising to see the way they treat strangers, not to mention how dirty most of the cities are. I was literally called a monkey in Nápoles and I'm not even black, I'm mixed.
If anyone searches for Italy advice on google they also can see that this is true, very sad for such a beautiful place.
