So, I think when people find out what I'm doing a sequel to, they might be a bit surprised seeing as I've dragged the song before. I just had a really cute concept for the song.
How is Kelly calling PBP "BOY 2.0" any different from Taylor spelling out the title "Forever & Always" in a hidden message in the lyrics of "Last Kiss," or using a lyric from "Superman" as the hidden message to "Dear John"? Both make it clear that the songs are about the same subject, and are therefore "sequels."
Would "White Horse" be an acceptable example of a sequel to "Love Story" because of the common fairytale imagery and the shift from "I'll be the princess" to "I'm not your princess"?
This would make more sense. I (personally, potentially the other judges) don't want to have to search for the connection between the sequels.
PBP/BOY isn't the best example, which is why I have Let the Flames Begin and Part II in the challenge post, those songs nail the challenge to a t.
I might as well say, my song is a continuation of one of the best songs of all time, and one of my personal favourite songs ever.
Truly one of the best.

Phew, the BRAVERY! I would never even try it I'd love to see your finished product though, since I love that song and think a sequel would be interesting.

I'm not gonna try to write a sequel to a classic, because you're going to be held to that standard, and unless you're really certain of yourself, that just sets you up for failure.
