Wild Pokémon on Victory Road are pretty decent for EXP, or you have the VS Seeker so you can re-battle any trainers.
The two elderly trainers on the Route south of Hearthome City give amazing cash, throw on an Amulet Coin and you won't need to worry about anything.
I challenge the E4 at level ~50 but I like a bit of a challenge so maybe 55 if you don't.
I'm at the 4th gym though but i hate the graphics and i wish i did choose Snivy and not Oshawott
