Ooh, I see it. I get a huge Joni/Stevie vibe on a lot of the sings. Scattered moments of Vashti Bunyan too. The title track sounds like Lana-lite though and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

The funny thing is Pure Heroine was released the same quarter as Prism, Bangerz, and ARTPOP yet it feels like she's been gone 3 years longer than all of them. Being out of the limelight really does do more damage than you'd think.

Ff. Her debut was very much melodramatic productions, big vocals, etc., and it did kind of get exhausting over a whole album so this is a refreshing change of pace. It's def. worth a listen, I guess...?
I don't curr about sales so I'm most excited for what Lorde is bringing to the table. What if she serves experimental Desth Grips esque or something totally left field maybe she is working on perfecting the sound on lyrics since she is very intelligent.

And it's ironic bc Pure Heroine is the best album, out of those four. It's probably why we see such small album gaps early on into young artists careers. Ariana, Meghan, etc
Pure Heroine is more beloved among people my age than any Gaga/Katy album. It's a very nostalgic album.
Real music not that Gaga's isn't real it's just pop, nothing really special about it (I say this as a full on Gaga fan). Lorde has legit passion with her lyrics that have touched a generation (millennials)
