Also, if you're really interested in how K-pop works (especially with girl groups), I reccommend watching the reality show Produce 101, it's a really fun reality competition show where 101 girls compete to be in a girl group. The first couple episodes it kinda explains who the top groups are and the girls perform famous kpop songs as well so you get an introduction to it. Plus, it's really entertaining. My nonkpop friend watched it and now he's obsessed.
