Hi

I never posted in this thread before, but after listening to the album everyday since it leaked I wanted to share my thoughts about it somewhere.
I found myself enjoying this album more than I thoght I would because I didn't really liked Reflection... and even though WFH is very catchy and did wonders for their popularity, it is still not great (in my opinion,of course). (I dislike WFH less than Worth It so that's something

)
I believe that my problem with this album is that even though I liked it more than their last, I think it lacks personality. Reflection felt kinda more like them... I know that in both albums they just basically sing what is given to them, but Reflection in that way was more interesting than this one for me.
About the girls themselves... They sound much better here. I am in love with Lauren's voice most of the time (the only song in which she doesn't shine for me is in AIMH). The producers have done a good job in the distribution of solos with Ally, she really sounds great in them (the beggining of Gonna Get Betteer is glorious). Normani sounds good too, and so does Dina (specially in AIMH) . That brings me to Camila. I loved her during their X Factor days, and during the time they were promoting Better Together... I stopped enjoying her personality and her voice by the time Reflection was released. She had way too many solos, and for me she ruined some songs (like We Know)... (it took me some time to move that blame towards the producers instead of blaming her). Here in 7/27 she sounds better, a little more restrained, and there are moments on which she either makes the song, or ..not. She makes TMG imo, but her voice sounds out of place in AIMH, and I don't like her on Dope either. The bridge of Write On Me would've sounded better with her harmonizing with Lauren for example... (And I still find her a little extra on live performances, but that's another story)
So now with two released albums and their EP, I have a new playlist with the songs I kept of each album:
- Don't Wanna Dance Alone
- Miss Moving On
- Leave My Heart Out of This
- (and their spanish versions)
- Sledgehammer
- We Know
- Going Nowhere
- Body Rock
- I'm in Love with a Monster
- That's My Girl
- Work From Home
- Write On Me
- I Lied
- All In My Head
- Dope
(in black my favorites on this album)
Sorry this was so long, and thank you if you read it till the end!
