Honestly I don't know what I would do. I feel a huge moral obligation to save the child, but I would want to save my own cat for selfish reasons. Let's hope I never have to choose between the two. But I really love animals so I don't know.

I'd save the strangers child. I child's life means so much poor than that if an animal. If someone chose a dog over one of my baby brothers

I don't even get the whole "i would save the human duh xD" argument.

Humans are already overpopulating and ruining the earth and since i'm not religious I don't believe we have "souls" that make us superior to animals. If I have a deeper relationship with a dog, I would save the dog.

I cant at some of y'all saying youd let your dog drown. Honestly my dog is a member of the family and I look at the situation just as that. Between a member of my family and a stranger. Don't get my wrong in most situations I love helping strangers, but in a situation like this, it comes down to looking after your own first.
