This is exactly the type of new direction I was expecting from her.

From the get-go, Katy has never been the type of artist capable of pulling a 360 or a mere 180 in terms of sonical evolution which is completely fine. This song maintains the right amount of her pop sensibilities that made her a force in the first place all while dabbling in a fresh set of elements still right up in her pop music alley.
